http://www.TravelsWithSheila.com Upgraded to a suite on check-in at the Grand Stanford Hotel made it 2 for 2; JW Marriott in Beijing and now here in Hong Kong but with only 1 bath, no powder room, and no electric drapes :) Travelers who belong to different loyalty clubs do get a little (or a lot) something extra. As I've said before, luxury hotels are all about the breakfast buffets, particularly in Asia. There's nothing I adore more than trying different Chinese, Indian and Continental dishes at breakfast and can usually eat myself into a food coma. A wonderful hotel and beyond outstanding breakfast.

Le Grand Tour 1997 is a unique vignette of life as a travelling bovine. An emotion-charged movie, complete with subtle black and white humour, and a 1960s beat generation soundtrack. This is life in the fast Lane. Mild mannered bovine T Stanford Cowe never dreamed that he would travel any further than from the Shanghai sweatshop of his birth to the Spotlight warehouses of Australia. That is, until destiny brought him to Spotlight Rockhampton and ultimately into contact with the globetrotting Jacquie and Peter. With nothing more than his black felt hat, red scarf and a suitcase and a penchant for living life to its fullest (and a desire to experience the wonders of television in as many countries as possible), T Stanford Cowe headed off to lands far away. This is his story.

The Stanford Racing Team is Stanford University's response to the DARPA Grand Challenge. The Grand Challenge was an off-road robot competition devised by DARPA (Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency) to promote research in the area of autonomous vehicles. The challenge consisted of building a robot capable of navigating 175 miles through desert terrain in less than 10 hours, with no human intervention. On October 9, 2005, Stanley and the Stanford Racing Team were awarded 2 million dollars for being the first team to complete the 132 mile DARPA Grand Challenge course in California's Mohave Desert. Stanley finished in just under 6 hours 54 minutes and averaged over 19 mph on the course. For more information visit http://cs.stanford.edu/group/roadrunner/
